Our bilingual Ballet and Flamenco combo class, introduces the foundational and expressive techniques of both art forms. Dancers will explore the magical world of ballet and flamenco styles in this creative approach to beginning foundational dance technique. Focusing on compa’s (rhythm), movement, and musicality, Dancers will develop coordination and connection to the art and expression of dance. Engaging imagination, this program is designed to introduce the building blocks of spatial awareness, body posture, and the characteristic of “zapateado”! See your child on stage--a show will be performed by all students at the end of each semester in the MC Dance Miami Performance.

Ages 3-5Shake, groove, and move to you favorite pop music in this upbeat, high-energy dance class! This class is designed to increase confidence and encourages a brave space for dancers to enrich rhythm and self-expression. Dancers will increase strength, flexibility, and musicality, as they begin to learn the fundamentals of turns, leaps, and tricks, all while keeping on the beat to age-appropriate music. Competition Dancers will travel locally in the spring to regional competitions and must be available on weekends to participate. Mommy-and-Me Discovery Ballet, Saturdays 10:30-11:15am

In Discovery Ballet, Dancers will be lead through a special theme for each week, including fairies, rainbows, tea parties, and more! Mommy, Daddy, or Caregivers are invited to stay and join their child in this explorative group class. Our Instructor will guide Ballerinas to explore the magical world of ballet in this creative approach to beginning foundational dance technique as it connects to each weekly theme. Focusing on rhythm, movement, and music, Ballerinas will develop coordination and connection to the art and expression of dance. Beginner Tap & Ballet Combo, Saturdays 11:30am-12:15pm
Ages 3-5
Beginner Tap & Ballet is the perfect combo class for beginner Dancers. Dancers will begin class twirling and leaping with ballet basics. Our second half of the class invites Dancers to switch into their tap shoes to learn the fundamentals of tap dance, such as flaps, shuffles, cramp rolls, and ball change.
**All Parents/Guardians must stay if their enrolled dancer is not fully potty trained**

An introduction to Ballet with beginning development of ballet concepts including turn out, coordination, spatial awareness and a specific focus on class etiquette. Students will begin positions of the feet, and introductory movement vocabulary. Class will focus on basic ballet technique, proper body alignment, French terminology and musicality. Students will be introduced to elementary barre and center work.

Dance Combo (Jazz/Contemporary/Improv)
Tuesdays 3:30-4:15pm
Ages 6-11
Dance Combo is the perfect class for any level dancer to develop skills between both Contemporary and Jazz styles. Each class will rotate between jazz and contemporary to build upon fundamentals and learn fun dance combinations in each style. Contemporary dancers learn to connect mind, body, and soul to the movements and interpretation of music. Students will begin to develop improvisation and composition techniques.See your child on stage--a show will be performed by all students enrolled in this class at the end of each session with MC Dance Miami!

Acting & Musical Theater
Wednesdays 3:30-4:15
Ages 6-11
In this upbeat Acting Class, students will focus on stand up comedy skills and character development through classic techniques, modern stage exercises and improvisational games. Students will perform in group scene work to further explore the interpretation of reading scripts and how this translates into characterization. Through high-energy acting games, Actors will enrich reading skills and build preparation for on-stage performance. Each actor or actress will find their own unique interpretation and creative expression, building self-esteem and teamwork among friends.
*Children enrolled in Acting will not participate in an end-of-session performance. -
*Mini Competition Team
Wednesdays 3:30-4:30pm
Audition Only
Entry into this Team is by audition only. Competition Dancers will be required to also enroll in a minimum of 3 additional classes (including mandatory Ballet, technique, and company) with MC Dance Miami to participate in the Competition Team to strengthen dance training and technique. Competition Dancers will travel locally in the spring to regional competitions and must be available on weekends to participate. In this upbeat Jazz Funk and Hip Hop Dance class, dancers will learn a mix of popular dance styles mixed with age-appropriate pop music. Jazz Funk and Hip Hop Dance is a perfect class for beginner and intermediate levels, designed to introduce a combination of new, cool routines each class. Come dance to your favorite Pop Stars with this popular commercial style of movement, while learning basic grooves and techniques in this high-energy combo class!

Technique II, Thursdays 3:45-4:30pm
Ages 6-11
Dance Technique class is a high-energy and physically demanding class, designed to strengthen each dancer to their fullest technical and physical fitness potential. Technique class is a way for dancers to take their dance training to the next level, optimizing strength, flexibility, balance, and skill set to advance dance tricks, turns, and leaps. Focusing on body conditioning for Dancers, we will begin each class with a combination of Pilates, floor barre and other exercise techniques to improve balance, strength, placement, flexibility, and coordination. This is an opportunity to work exclusively on dance tricks, turns, and leaps specific to each dancers’ skill level. Students will learn to connect muscle development to strengthen their technique and increase flexibility in class and on stage to improve overall dance development and athleticism.
*Dancers in Technique do not perform in the end-of-season show. This is a training class only.
*Technique is a requirement for all Competition Dancers and is open to all non-competition dancers.

(Entry into this class is by Audition only). The Company is a highly advanced dance class built for dancers that desire a professional atmosphere and rigorous training. Choreography is taught at a rapid pace and students must already possess advanced Ballet technique along with Contemporary and Jazz knowledge. Company Dancers must also be enrolled in other dance class offerings with MC Dance Miami to strengthen their training. Company members will perform in community events locally throughout the year.

Broadway Jazz: Thursdays 4:30-5:15pm Ages 5-11
Broadway Jazz dance is an upbeat class focusing on Broadway style choreography and show-stopping stage presence. Building on Musical Theater techniques, dancers will learn song-and-dance numbers from a variety of Broadway productions. This class combines dance with acting, and is the perfect class to build any dancer into a triple threat!

Acro & Tricks
Thursdays 5:15-6:00pm
Ages 6-12
Acro & Tricks is a class designed to give Dancers extra opportunity to work on acro/gymnastics style tricks to incorporate into their dance training. This is the class where Dancers get to learn and build upon skills to master tricks like aerials, back and front walkovers, needles, handsprings, and more!
Dancers enrolled in Acro & Tricks will not perform in the end-of-session Performance; this is a training class.

Alexander Montessori School Performance Dance Team, Fridays 3:30-4:15pm
Ages 5-11
You are invited to join our inaugural Alexander Montessori Wildcats Performance Dance Team!
As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to perform at school events such as the Spring Carnival, Greek Olympics, Family Fun Day, and more! You will learn multiple routines in different styles including Jazz and Hip Hop!
This is not a competition team; this is a performance team for Alexander Montessori School. No travel beyond Miami is required and attendance at all events is optional, but strongly encouraged. Please stay tuned for a schedule of events.

Alexander Montessori School
We are excited to offer a Dance Class for 1st through 3rd Grade Boys and Girls, on Fridays - during PE. The Friday Dance Class will cost $150 per semester. Enrollment in this class is on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited, allowing for more specialized attention for each dancer. Dance classes will focus on Jazz, Contemporary, and Lyrical dance styles allowing for lots of cardio, strength trainings, and dance fun! Students can opt out of PE on Fridays and enroll in dance during the school day, during their regularly scheduled PE class times. We hope you take advantage of this wonderful and fun-filled addition to the PE Program at Alexander Montessori School, directed by MC Dance Miami!

Body alignment, muscle awareness, and vocabulary/skill comprehension will determine progress. This class will focus on positions of the arms, direction of the body and increased movement vocabulary. In Ballet Level V & VI, attention is paid to the proper extension of the legs and shape of the feet, developing movement sequences, port de bras and balance. Students will see an increase in difficulty in barre and center work.

Pointe I & Pre Pointe

Teacher Approval Only
(Based off of teacher approval & must be enrolled in Ballet to participate). Pointe is an advanced level of ballet with the use of pointe shoes. Students will continue to advance their skills on pointe. Dancers will use the barre to strengthen feet and learn balance, while achieving a comprehensive understanding of proper pointe shoe mechanics. Barre work will continue to strengthen technique and balance, and students will begin center work and across the floor variations.

Ages 10-18
Contemporary II is an intermediate to advanced level. Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines lyrical, modern, and jazz techniques stemming from a foundation of ballet. Contemporary dancers learn to connect mind, body, and soul to the movements and interpretation of music. Dancers will continue to develop improvisation and composition techniques, while connecting their breath and expression to their artistic performance. Tuition includes $60 costume fee.

(Entry into this class is by Audition only). The All Star Company is an advanced dance class for the intermediate dancer from Peewee, Mini, and Junior Competition Teams. All Star Company is built for dancers that desire a more professional atmosphere and rigorous training. Choreography is taught at a rapid pace and students must already possess advanced Ballet technique along with Contemporary and Jazz knowledge. Junior Company Dancers must also be enrolled in required company-level dance class offerings with MC Dance Miami to strengthen their training. Company members will perform at dance competitions throughout the year.

Palmer Trinity JV Dance Team proudly represents PTS as a non-performance group. Dancers will train in a combination of hip hop and jazz funk styles weekly. Company Dancers must also be enrolled in other dance class offerings with MC Dance Miami to strengthen their training. Company members will perform in community events locally throughout the year.

Contemporary II

Ages 10-18
Contemporary II is an intermediate to advanced level. Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines lyrical, modern, and jazz techniques stemming from a foundation of ballet. Contemporary dancers learn to connect mind, body, and soul to the movements and interpretation of music. Dancers will continue to develop improvisation and composition techniques, while connecting their breath and expression to their artistic performance. Tuition includes $60 costume fee.
*Dress code: Lyrical shoes and dance attire (any style).

Senior Competition Team
Wednesdays 4:00-5:00pm,
Audition Only
Entry into this Team is by audition only. Competition Dancers will be required to also enroll in a minimum of 3 additional classes (including mandatory Ballet, Technique II, and Principle Company) with MC Dance Miami to participate in the Competition Team to strengthen their training and technique. Competition Dancers will travel locally in the spring to regional competitions and must be available on weekends to participate. One year commitment is required.

Entry into this Team is by audition only. Grades 6th-8th
Palmer Trinity JV Dance Team proudly represents PTS as a non-performance group. Dancers will train in a combination of hip hop and jazz funk styles weekly. JV Dancers will build upon dance technique and train to advance leaps, turns, and tricks, while conditioning strength and flexibility to enhance skill level.
